The fifth edition of the Cusco International Book Fair ( FIL ), in Peru , will have guests from Argentina, Spain, and Mexico , and will pay homage to two Peruvian writers : Imelda Vega and William Hurtado,

The fair will take place from August 24 to September 2 in the biggest plaza of the former capital of the Inca empire. Agustina María Bazterrica will represent Argentina; from Spain, Antonio Cillóniz ; and Mario Bellatín will be representing Mexico. The Peruvian writers Santiago Roncagliolo and Umberto Jara and Lorena Álvarez , a journalist , who will represent her latest publications.

Mario Bellatín

was born in Mexico to Peruvian parents. His experimental writing has been praised by critics. He is known for creating enigmatic and complex characters.

The Cusco FI L will be attended by 126 publishers and over 80 writers during 10 days.

This year, they will pay homage to Imelda Vega for her prominent trajectory and her academic contributions , as well as to the “ Ch'illicomagazine , which has been circulating for 25 years.
