Urban artist Edgar Müller has specialized in 3D art, with designs linked to the context and history of the places he arrives in, and is currently working here in Mexico City, in his new work “Amor Eterno" (Eternal Love) at the Monument of the Revolution.
His new piece is inspired by the elements of life, such as fire and water, in addition to images of Mexico- Tenochtitlán and the volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccíhuatl .
During an interview, the artist explains that his completed work will be able to be seen in the upcoming days and that the exhibition time hasn't been determined because, while he is using water-based epoxy painting, it's the first time he paints on 90x90cm concrete slabs, and not directly on the street.
“I heard the story of these two mountains and I loved it,” he said, adding that the weather will determine when he concludes the painting and that this is his first time working in Mexico City, but not in Mexico, since he painted a couple of years ago in Nayarit.
The artist further said that "Amor Eterno" is the largest work he's done so far and the perspective is considered on the vertical, so the archway of the monument can be appreciated.
In a few days, he will begin another work at the Lion's Gate in Chapultepec , where he plans to paint an underground lake. “I know you've had a lot of trouble [with the lake], but I want to make a suggestion, to provide a different view on this lake, because the lake, to be honest, is not responsible for the damage that is causing today.”
