The comings and goings of the Mexican capital , as well as its various facets and conflicts will be part of a new TV show by Amazon Prime Video called CDMX , starting production next month.

The cast will feature Andrés Montiel , known for his role in The Crime of Father Amaro , and Luis Curiel , who appeared in another Amazon series called A Strange Enemy .

“The series is an interesting political thriller about situations that the Mexican capital currently faces. I play a politician, one of the good ones, which is rare, but there are still noble politicians in the country,” said Montiel, smiling.

“The series will show the reality of this big city, its comings and goings, and all kinds of things that you may find in each of its neighborhoods,” Curiel added.

This will be the second time Amazon Prime produces a series in Mexico City this year. The first was “ Un extraño enemigo ” ( A Strange Enemy ), which follows the tragic events of 1968 in the capital.

Directed by Jaime Reynoso (known for “Tlatelolco” and “Verano del 68”) , the project will premier in 2019 .

Streaming companies such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix have wagered for the production of Mexican series set in the country’s capital.
