What you can't hide in Tlahuac
Our sources say there are two things in Tlahuac you can't hide: money and your relationship with fallen drug lord Felipe de Jesús Pérez Luna , aka El Ojos . This is certainly the case of Tlahuac Governor Rigoberto Salgado . Federal authorities have the assistance of a witness who knows the criminal organization of El Ojos inside out and has led them to key locations where they will find evidence of money laundering and the necessary information to track the money. Moreover, they have in their possession the cell phone of the drug lord, who – they are certain – made several calls to Mr. Rigoberto, who innocently offered to hand in his own mobile to the authorities. “The problem is that the cell phone number of the Governor is in the records of El Ojos ; nobody said EL Ojos was in the Governor's contact list or WhatsApp,” said an officer with irony. Thus, we're told, they the last pieces of the puzzle are being placed and they are ready to launch a solid investigation with the purpose of getting a conviction. By the way, the Governor doesn't have political immunity – just like the other Governors of the Mexico City Delegations – and neither is it necessary for the Legislative Assembly to relieve him of his charge. If the investigation were ready tomorrow, he could be detained the very same without there being a violation of his rights.
MORENA awaits for a quick resolution
In a race against the clock, the far- left National Regeneration Party (MORENA) went to the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Court of the Federal Judicial Branch (TEPJF) to appeal the resolution of the Electoral Court of the State of Mexico, which rejected their appeal on the local elections held on June 4. Now, they have filed 45 claims more under the hypothesis of a “fraud” in the State of Mexico, which, according to MORENA, should be resolved before the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM) does the final tally and appoints Alfredo del Mazo as the State's Governor, next Tuesday. However, the schedules of the magistrates do tend to differ from the schedules of others, thus, a quick resolution for MORENA is nowhere in the horizon before the IEEM holds the meeting.
Who will preside the Senate?
The Parliamentary group of the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in the Senate, coordinated by Emilio Gamboa , is making the final preparations to hold its plenary meeting at the end of the month, where they will not only define their legislative agenda, they'll also elect the senator who will preside over the last year of the LXIII Legislature. According to our sources, the likely candidates to preside over the High Chamber are Senator Cristina Díaz and Senator Enrique Burgos .
The PRD fights over Venezuela
Our sources say there is an internal fight within the left Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) , regarding their political position on Venezuela . There are some movements, such as the one led by René Bejarano , who are in favor of the National Assembly of Nicolas Maduro ; yet others – including the high-ranking officials of the national party leadership – are opposed to showing their support for the regime. This has brought about internal arguments, considering the national leadership, under Alejandra Barrales , released a statement condemning the Venezuelan Government. However, we're told she did so with the consent of all the member s of the National Executive Committee. What is more than evident is that many a member of this party sympathizes with the Maduro administration.
