Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix 2017

will support the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) team UNAM Motorsports , made up of young people from different disciplines who could represent the future of motorsport, both nationally and internationally.

The students left for Europe to become the first Mexican university team to compete in the Formula Student category and will visit Italy (from July 19 to 23), Austria (July 31 to August 3) and Germany (from August 8 to 12).

Formula Student is a college auto racing competition that consists of designing and manufacturing a racing vehicle , then subjecting it to different inspections and dynamic tests against teams from other universities.

The students perform a "real" technical work since they also describe the cost report, the business plan, and the design plans.

Thus, Formula Student offers a new generation of young people the opportunity to get involved in motorsports .

In addition to being a platform where knowledge is put into practice, in its seven years of existence , UNAM Motorsports has proved to be a professional driving force for the various students who have been part of the team.

Among them are David Barrera , who will work professionally within the Toro Rosso team in the top category of sports car, along with Jaime Córdoba and Luis Roberto Rivero , who are manager of Sales District and Product Planning specialist, respectively, for Toyota Mexico .
