Donald Trump

has not completed 150 days in office yet and the possibility of an impeachment is already floating in the air as the Oval Office accumulates scandals, crises, and criminal investigations.

It is not that easy. Professor Ronald L. Feinman , author of the book Assassinations, Threats, and the American Presidency: From Andrew Jackson to Barack Obama and the blog The Progressive Professor , says to EL UNIVERSAL that although Trump is "entering a territory of impeachment (...) it could take a long time to occur."

Some congressmen have already started the process. Democrat Brad Sherman circulated this week the first draft of impeachment articles; his colleague Al Green was the first to pronounce that word in parliamentary seat and Maxine Waters promised impeachment almost at the same time when Trump assumed office.

"It's too early to write articles of impeachment," reflects Professor Keith Whittington of Princeton University . He emphasizes that only "significant discoveries" in ongoing investigations, especially on the Russiagate , could "speed things up."

Feinman agrees: there are "legitimate reasons" for impeachment, only that "it will take some time to get it. But Donald Trump is self-destructive."

It could occur especially if two of the most serious accusations are consolidated: the violation of the constitutional Clause of Emoluments and obstruction of justice.

"Obstruction of justice is the most serious and dangerous offense ," said Feinman. However, more evidence and information are needed, warns Whittington. "With what we know now there seems to be no significant support for impeachment," he says.

The midterm legislative elections of November 2018 , which have to be renewed throughout the House of Representatives, and a third of the Senate, are already on the horizon. "Republicans are worried about saving their majority in the 2018 midterm elections, so I think that actions are likely to be taken after the second half of 2018, " Feinman said.

There is still time for his oracle to be fulfilled.
