On June 16 and 17 , the International Blues Festival will be held in the Magical Village of Mineral de Pozos , in the central state of Guanajuato . Bands from Chicago, Mexico City, Querétaro, and León will participate in this edition.
Demetria Taylor
is this year's guest of honor, a singer from Chicago, daughter of famous Eddie Taylor, one of the most important musicians of the genre.
Other bands that will perform at the event are La Rambla (State of Mexico), Steffie Beltt (Mexico City), The Bluesmen (Querétaro) and Bourbon Blues Ensamble (León), among others. The price for the festival is MXN$100 pesos and there will be a donation of toys for the children of the community, a practice which is already a tradition in past festivals.
What to do in Pozos?
Mines region
. Apart from listening to blues, escape to the ruined mines that shined during the mandate of President Porfirio Díaz (18th century) and were later abandoned. That is why Pozos is considered a ghost town . There are tours around the mines and the haciendas.
Rancho de Lavanda
. You will find a purple landscape where you can rent a villa for a day, a week or a month; get to know the picking and elaboration of products made from lavender and go on guided riding tours on horse or bicycle. www.lavendarfarmsofpozos.com
Spa of craft beer.

How to arrive?
Car
: from Mexico City take the México-Querétaro highway up to Querétaro-San Luis Potosí and exit in San Miguel Allende/Dr. Mora until you reach San Luis de la Paz.
Bus
: go to Central del Norte and take the bus to San Luis de la Paz, when you arrive, take any transportation that takes you to Mineral de Pozos.
