Layín steals little but spends much
Hilario Ramírez Layín, independent candidate to the government of Nayarit, is taking advantage in something. Although polls place him at the bottom of the electoral preferences, Mr. Hilario, the same man who confessed that he steals just a little, is at the top of the list of candidates for the government, but in the field of campaign expenses. According to the report of income and expenses presented to the Technical Unit of Inspection of the National Electoral Institute (INE), the independent candidate leads with 10 million pesos. It's not a surprise that the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Electoral Crimes (FEPADE) is keeping an eye on him the possible commission of illegal acts since trucks have been detected distributing refrigerators with friendly greetings from Layín himself.
Campaign in other people's rally
We are told that in the campaign teams of the conservative National Action Party (PAN) candidates to the governments of Nayarit, Antonio Echevarría; Coahuila, Gullermo Anaya, and the State of Mexico, Josefina Vázquez Mota, there has been some discomfort for the attendance of the candidates for the presidential candidacy of 2018, Ricardo Anaya, Margarita Zavala and Rafael Moreno Valle. And it is not that they don't appreciate the support, they tell us, but in some cases they take advantage of political acts and rallies to use them as spotlights. That is to say, they campaign in other people's rally. As an example they cite the case of Moreno Valle, former governor of Puebla, who, in Ecatepec, was even cheered: "president, president, president!"
MORENA racoon hunters arrive in the State of Mexico
Some analysts say the election next Sunday will be of structures, so the parties are giving the last touches to tune their electoral machinery. In the case of far-left National Regeneration Party (MORENA), we are told that brigade members and volunteers from other states have started to show up in order to “hunt raccoons” in the elections next June 4th. They tell us that they have arrived at entities like Oaxaca and Querétaro, to organize the structure for the defense of the votes that the citizens will grant to the candidate of MORENA, teacher Delfina Gómez. In the next few days, more “raccoon hunters” from other states like Hidalgo, Puebla, Tlaxcala and also Mexico City are expected to arrive. The most optimistic figures state that Mrs. Delfina will have hunters in 7 out of each 10 polling stations, although some assure that the percentage will be much smaller.
Education, key in EPN's report
In Los Pinos they commented that one of the most important issues that President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, will address in his 5th Government Report will be Education and the consolidation of educational reform. To kick it off, today, Peña Nieto, at "Siete de Enero" school, in Álvaro Obregón, will head the event "Best Schools", a subject that has been strongly promoted by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP). The presidential residence has even invited communicators to listen to the advances of the educational reform in the voice of high level officials of this dependency that Aurelio Nuño heads. They affirm that there are great hard facts and advances to be addressed regarding this matter, but also, there is fact that it was finally possible to take the control of education out of the magisterial union´s hands and give it back to whom should have never lost it: the State.
