SeaWorld raises funds to save tiny porpoise

The park and Guy Harvey will donate to VaquitaCPR 15% of “Save the Vaquita” sales

Facing the challenge of saving the tiny porpoise, SeaWorld has taken a further step to help the cause, which will represent their support for the VaquitaCPR organization.

The supervisor of SeaWorld's Orlando Marine Mammals, Pedro Ramos-Navarrete, explained that they have begun a campaign along with marine life painter Guy Harvey, in order to raise funds which will be destined to Vaquita Conservation Protection Recover (VaquitaCPR.)

In an interview with Notimex, the also SeaWorld spokesman detailed that they have a series of products named “Save the Vaquita” by Guy Harvey, which includes shirts, cups, among other things, with the special painting the artist exclusively created for SeaWorld and the cause. He explained that 15 percent of what is raised will be destined directly to VaquitaCPR, where other organizations participate, such as SeaWorld, Chicago Zoological Society, as well as Mexican organizations like the Mexican Association of Habitats.

For a long time, SeaWorld has participated with specialized veterinarians to elaborate research, conservation, and educational programs and offer their experience in the diverse actions implemented in the Gulf of California.
