Mexican actor Diego Luna will play the lead character of the Universal Pictures' highly-anticipated Scarface remake.
According to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, director Antoine Fuqua has departed the project and Universal has already begun meeting with directors so production of the remake won’t be affected.
“Boardwalk Empire” creator Terence Winter penned the most recent draft.
The Rogue One star is also part of the cast of the upcoming Flatliners reboot.
The first Scarface movie made it to theaters in 1932 and was directed by Howard Hawks.
The film was remade in 1983, now directed by Brian De Palma and written by Oliver Stone with Al Pacino in the lead role.
