Federal authorities have arrested a suspect wanted in a 2014 fatal shooting outside a Yuma restaurant.

Yuma police say 44-year-old Modesto Cortes-Serrillo was arrested Tuesday in Mexico City by the U.S. Marshals Service.

He's been booked into a Yuma County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder. It's unclear if he has a lawyer yet.

Police say Cortes-Serrillo was wanted in connection with the April 2014 shooting death of 43-year-old Santiago Olivo-Diaz.

Authorities say the two men knew each other and the shooting occurred after an argument.

They say Cortes-Serrillo was taken to Mexico by his son and daughter. The two siblings were later arrested for hindering prosecution.

It's unclear how authorities were able to track down and apprehend Cortes-Serrillo after he was on the run for more than two years.
