Neighbors of the community of San Mateo Nopala, in State of Mexico, organize a rally to take place next Monday morning from the civil square of their community to the Lomas Verdes avenue in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, to demand the clarification of the murder of 10-year-old Evelyn last week.
Evelyn went to play football in the morning of October 31 and would later go to school in her usual afternoon shift, but failed to attend her lessons and went missing. Her lifeless body was found inside a garbage bag later that day.
Around 300 residents of several neighboring communities to San Mateo Nopala blocked San Mateo avenue last Friday for an hour, to demand more safety and to have the perpetrators of Evelyn’s murder identified and arrested.
Protesters assured they do not adhere to any political party and demanded state and municipal authorities to provide more police surveillance and safety against the rise of criminal events that have lately taken over Naucalpan, which include armed robbery, feminicides, murder and kidnapping.
