Mexico expresses condolences for Fidel Castro’s death

President Peña Nieto acknowledged the good bilateral relationship between Mexico and Cuba by posting a message in his twitter account

President Peña Nieto mourned the death of historic Cuban leader Fidel Castro, by posting a message in his twitter account: “I deeply regret the death of Fidel Castro Ruiz, leader of the Cuban Revolution and emblematic figure of the 20th century”.

He added that “Fidel Castro was a friend of Mexico and a promoter of a bilateral relationship based on respect, dialogue and solidarity”.

In an official release, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) expressed its heartfelt sympathy to the people of Cuba: “The Mexican government deeply regrets the death of commander Fidel Castro Ruiz, a man of deep conviction and a great friend of Mexico, who leaves an indelible imprint in Latin America and the rest of the world”.
