In addition to manufacturing parts and components, Mexico would like to completely assemble an aircraft in Mexico.
“It's very important for our country to assemble a complete aircraft in the near future, which is why I'm taking the opportunity to call on the company Boeing to expand their aircraft parts and components manufacturing activities and visualize the possibility of being the first to give us the opportunity to do this,” said Miguel Peláez, the general director of the Ministry of Communications and Transport's Civil Aviation Authority during Boeing's 100th anniversary.
The public official said that the Civil Aviation Authority has 46 registered manufacturers, 21 of which carry out certain manufacturing activities for the Boeing Company in cities such as Chihuahua, Mexicali, Tijuana, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Hermosillo.
As a result, Mexico represents 20% of the manufacturing of parts and components for Boeing in Latin America, said Peláez.
