The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) announced that the Mexican government will send humanitarian aid to Haiti following Hurricane Matthew that ravaged the country.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed Mexico's condolences to the people and government of the Republic of Haiti for the unfortunate loss of life, injury and serious material damage.
The Ministry added that in solidarity with our Caribbean brothers, the Mexican government will allocate resources from the Humanitarian Aid Fund of the Mexican Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AMEXCID).
"The Mexican government reaffirms its solidarity with the Haitian people and government, and wishes a quick recovery of the wounded and the normalization of the affected areas." reads the statement.
According to Haitian Civil Protection, Hurricane Matthew's trail of destruction has killed at least 840 people.
