Government officials throughout Latin America are calling for dialogue between Venezuela's government and opposition leaders in an attempt to restore rule of law and guarantee the constitutional rights of all citizens.

The governments of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay have voiced their concerns over the “severe polarization” that Venezuela is currently experiencing.

“We hope today's demonstrations end peacefully and that the right of all Venezuelans to protest is respected,” said government officials in a joint press release released today.
