A worker at the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City was injured today in the museum's main stage while working on the stage for the opera La Bohème.
The sceneshifter was rushed to a hospital around noon and was released a few hours later.
According to local officials, the accident occurred after a rope used to raise part of the stage snapped.
The museum has since said it conducted a walkthrough of the stage to ensure all safety protocols are followed and assured that the accident was an “extraordinary” case.
The opera by Puccini is scheduled to debut on October 6.
