Mexicans hit and burned a piñata in the likeness of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in Mexico City, while calling on Americans to vote against the controversial mogul.
“We have a way to stop him, the proper way, and that is to vote. This is why we call on everyone who is eligible to register and vote against Trump.” said María García, one of the protesters.
Since the beginning of his presidential campaign, Donald Trump has famously been disparaging about Mexicans, accusing them of being rapists and drug traffickers.
He has also promised to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border and make Mexico pay for it.
According to Reuters, Latino voters tend to favor Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton with 58% supporting her compared to 19% for Trump.
Once the piñata was almost destroyed, the demonstrators set it on fire shouting "you will burn in hell, Trump."
