Mexico's Ministry of Health confirms 4,306 new cases of Zika over the last week, 522 more than previously reported.

According to the most recent report released by Mexico's Bureau of Epidemiology, the states with the highest number of outbreaks are Veracruz with 1,110, Guerrero with 748, Chiapas with 609, Oaxaca with 481, Yucatán with 376, Quintana Roo with 196, Tabasco with 189, and Colima with 144.

2,087 of these cases correspond to pregnant women.

Also, with respect to Chikungunya, the Bureau of Epidemiology reports 514 cases in Mexico to date, with Veracruz reporting the most cases so far (147).

The Bureau urges citizens to eliminate any sources of standing water, such as tires, buckets, puddles or other receptacles, as well as to wear long sleeved shirts and pants, use insect repellant and mosquito nets, and place mosquito traps in doorways and windows.
