Prosecutors in Mexico say a Spanish woman who was reported kidnapped last week was found slain, apparently by her captors.

The prosecutors' office in Mexico State identified the dead woman as María Villar Galaz. Local media identify her as the niece of Ángel María Villar, the head of Spain's soccer federation.

Authorities say the woman was kidnapped in Mexico City on Sept. 13 and her body was found in neighboring Mexico State. They haven't given details on exactly where she was discovered or a precise date, saying only that her body was found "several days" after she was abducted.
