Category 2 hurricane Orlene is located about 605 miles (975 kilometers) west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and is moving north near 5 mph (7 kph).
Orlene is expected to weak during the next few days, according to the National Weather Center.
According to the forecast, today afternoon Orlene will be located 885 kilometers southwest of Cabo San Lázaro, Baja California as a Category 1 hurricane.
