Mexican actress Kate del Castillo presented an appeal in order to have a judge end the investigation conducted by the Office of the Attorney General for her presumed links with drug kingpin Joaquín Guzmán Loera, "El Chapo".
Judge Augusto Octavio Mejía Ojeda received the request by the actress in a court in Mexico City.
The judge requested more information and will present a decision on August 8.
The PGR is investigating whether Castillo received money from "El Chapo" for the financing of a biopic and the production of her Tequila Honor del Castillo.
