Mexico's Attorney General Arely Gómez announced the creation of a binational group with U.S. authorities for the fight against heroin use, with her at its helm.
During a working visit to Washington, Gómez said that a joint strategy was defined in order to get results in the short term.
“There are matters which affect both Mexico and the United States because all the deaths of heroin or fentanyl consumers. This is a very serious situation and this can only be done jointly," she said.
During a conference at the Woodrow Wilson Center about the new Mexican judicial system, Gómez presented it as the most important change in the country in the last 100 years.
