The Governor of Chiapas, Manuel Velasco Coello, said that the police will arrest "in the next few hours" all those involved in the killing of Domingo López González, mayor of San Juan Chamula.
In an interview, Velasco Coello said that six suspects are already under arrest and that the authorities will catch the rest.
The Governor arrived at this town in the border area between Chamula, Mitontic and Chenalhó to participate in the funerals of López González.
"We will arrest all those involved in this incident withing the next few hours," he said.
The relatives of López González called for justice and due punishment to those involved in his killing because "revenge is not worth it," as Armando López, one of the children of the mayor, said to the press.
