Five people killed in San Juan Chamula, Chiapas

Twelve people were wounded and taken to the hospital in San Cristobal de las Casas.

The death toll has risen to five after a shooting in the municipality of San Juan Chamula, in Chiapas, reported the state government.

At a press conference, the Government Secretary General, Juan Carlos Gómez Aranda, said that the victims are the mayor of San Juan Chamula, Domingo López González; Government Administrator, Narciso Lunes Hernández; Councilman Miguel López Gómez; a driver of a City Hall vehicle, Ernesto Pérez Pérez, and Silvano Hernández Díaz, a resident of the community.

In addition, twelve people were wounded and taken to the hospital in San Cristóbal de las Casas.
