President Barack Obama and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto will meet Friday at the White House.
The White House announced the last-minute visit on Thursday.
Obama and Peña Nieto met in late June in Canada during a summit of North America's leaders that included Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The White House says Obama is looking forward to working with Peña Nieto to continue the progress they achieved at the Canada summit.
Coincidentally, Peña Nieto will visit the United States the same day that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has promised to announce his choice for vice president.
