The violence has interfered with the elections in the state of Oaxaca, with 110 people arrested and the robbery and destruction with fire of election materials.
According to the Elections and Citizen Involvement Institute of Oaxaca (IEEPCO), 11 polling stations were assaulted during the elections, and two of them in the population of Santiago Ixtayutla were set on fire. The guilty parts are still on the lam.
Another polling station was stolen in Santiago Juxtlahuaca, and in Santa María Alotepec the polling materials from two stations was stolen. In San Dionisio Ocotepec, five polling stations were also stolen, as well as one in Santiago Laollaga.
Also, the elections were suspended due to violence in seven stations in Álvaro Obregón, from the municipality of Juchitán.
By 2:00 p.m., the IEEPCO reported 107 incidents during the elections, as well as 110 detainees for a variety of crimes.
