In Cuauhtémoc district, crime is divided by streets. Cars are stolen on Amado Nervo and Enrique González Martínez streets in Santa María la Ribera neighborhood. From 2014 to 2015, these streets registered the highest number of vehicle theft reports.
The second neighborhood in which more cars are stolen is Roma Norte, especially on Guadalajara street. In those two years 1,986 cars were stolen in Cuauhtémoc district.
Arcos de Belén, Hidalgo, Balderas and Izazaga are the streets where more robberies in public transport are committed: 766 such crimes were reported in 2014 and 2015.
According to a "criminal Index" presented a few weeks ago by authorities, between 12:00 and 18:00 hrs. there is a high risk of being robbed if you take buses or minibuses at Centro, Guerrero, Doctores, Roma Norte and Juárez neighborhoods.
Cuauhtémoc delegation covers 32.44 square kilometers (12.52 square miles). However, passer-byes are mainly robbed on the following streets: Eje Central, República del Salvador, Doctor Arce and Eje 1 Poniente.
The most unsafe neighborhoods to walk after 21:00 hrs. are Centro, Doctores, Guerrero, Morelos and Roma Norte: 3,014 robberies were reported in two years, while more houses have been robbed in Roma Sur, Centro, Atlampa, Tránsito and Doctores.
Trucks and vans carrying goods are robbed in Belisario Domínguez, Revillagigedo, Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, Galeana and Debussy. Last year 33 robberies were reported in Mexico City downtown, 12 in Doctores, 11 in Obrera, eight in the Guerrero and eight in Peralvillo neighborhoods.
If you use ATMs in Roma neighborhood between 14:00 and 18:00 hrs., watch out, especially on Coahuila and Tabasco streets, Cuauhtémoc Avenue, Doctor Vertiz and on Hipódromo Condesa and Santa María la Ribera neighborhoods.
Also, 181 people were killed in Cuauhtémoc district between 2014 and 2015: 25 in Morelos neighborhood, 15 in Centro, 14 in Guerrero, 10 in Doctores and seven in Atlampa.
Four streets in Morelos neighborhood and Mexico City downtown -Florida, Toltecas, Allende and Nicaragua- are the ones in which more people have been killed.
The document also states that the neighborhoods in which more rapes have been reported are Centro, Peralvillo, Morelos, Obrera and Doctores.
