TV Azteca newsmen are freed after being restrained for 7 hours

Pedro Enrique Cortés and Fernando Albarrán were released after giving their captors a copy of the material they recorded in Oaxaca.

Sympathizers of the National Coordination of Education Workers (CNTE), masked men and inhabitants of Asunción, Nochixtlán, retained an editor and a camera man of Televisión Azteca who arrived in Oaxaca to cover the recent violence.

They wanted the TV station to give them 15 minutes in its nightly news show to show that policemen shot against demonstrators on Sunday.

After the mediation of congressman Jesús Valencia and Enrique Guadarrama, representative of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), Pedro Enrique Cortés and Fernando Albarrán were released after giving their captors a copy of the material they recorded.
