The authorities of the state of Hidalgo confirmed that one of the Mexicans killed during the Orlando nightclub shooting was a resident of that region, and his relatives are asking for help to get his remains back to the municipality of Huichapan.
Juan de Dios Hernández, head of the Immigrant Assistance Office of the state, reported that the relatives of 25-year-old Juan Chávez Martínez requested its assistance.
The young man, from the municipality of Huichapan, has been reported as one of the people killed during the attack at the Pulse bar in Orlando.
The whole process to request the delivery of his body can take up to four days. In the meantime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide attention to the relatives of the victim.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the other two Mexican victims of the massacre have been identified as 30-year-old Miguel Ángel Onorato and 25-year-old Juan Chávez Martínez.
