Federal police detected a shipment of methamphetamine hidden inside traditional Mexican toys, which was bound for the United States.
Authorities said Friday in a statement that during an inspection at a package delivery company in the western state of Jalisco they found wrapped packages of methamphetamine inside the toys.
The package was addressed to a home in North Carolina, United States. The drug had a total weight of 1.6 kilograms (about 3.5 pounds.)
Police said the drug was detected after passing the toys through an x-ray machine.
