Fourth Zika case confirmed in Michoacán

The victim is a 26-year-old woman from the port of Lázaro Cárdenas.

Authorities of Michoacán reported the fourth case of zika in the state, a 26-year-old woman from Lázaro Cárdenas, who presented the symptoms of the disease, informed Fabio Silahua Silva, head of the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine of the State Ministry of Health.

The official said that the victim is not pregnant.

He noted that health authorities implemented epidemiological actions to search for other potential infected people.

The other three zika cases in the state were detected in February and April in the towns of Apatzingán and Lázaro Cárdenas.
