EPN sends help to Ecuador after earthquake

The President of Mexico instructed the authorities to send aid and rescue teams.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto instructed the ministries of the Interior and of Foreign Affairs to activate the protocols required in order to send humanitarian aid and rescue teams to Ecuador, in response to the massive earthquake there.

"In light of the tragedy in Ecuador, I instructed @SEGOB_MX and @SRE_MX to activate the protocols for sending humanitarian aid and rescue," wrote the president on his official Twitter account.

Also, the Interior Ministry reported that a Mexican delegation has been sent to the South American nation in order to provide help.

"The Ministry of the Interior, through the National Coordination of Civil Protection and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has coordinated the dispatch of an inter-agency mission that will be relocated to Ecuador," explained a press bulletin.
