A Mexican woman kidnapped 8 years ago in Guatemala was found alive in a small village in the Central American country.

In a brief statement, the National Civil Police reported that the 55-year-old victim, identified as Minerva Flores Salazar, was found in the village of El Cerrito, in the town of Amatitlán.

Flores Salazar was made available to the Mexican Consulate in Guatemala. Authorities have not reported any arrests so far.
