Mexico confirms 160 cases of Zika

The Zika virus continues to advance over Mexican territory and there are 160 cases recorded, 30 of them pregnant women, up to March 18, according to the General Directorate of Epidemiology of the Health Ministry.

Just last week, the Ministry of Health reported 151 cases and 25 pregnant women among them.

Eighty-two of the cases are reported in the southern state of Chiapas while 59 come from Oaxaca, seven from Guerero, four from Nuevo León and two from Jalisco.

In the meantime, Michoacán, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Tabasco, Veracruz and Yucatán have only reported one case each.

The report points out that Chiapas, again, has the greatest number of victims in the case of mothers to be, with 24, followed by Oaxaca and Veracruz with five each.
