In the first step before unseating congresswoman Lucero Guadalupe Sánchez, the Office of the Attorney General has reportedly obtained the documents related to her election.

According to sources within the PGR, this is just the start of an action against the state lawmaker, who has been linked with drug kingpin Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.

Sánchez is under the spotlight for allegedly using a false voter I.D. in order to meet with "El Chapo" while he was in prison, just before his last and most spectacular escape.

The congresswoman, from the right-wing National Action Party, could also face additional charges for her alleged involvement with the Sinaloa cartel.
