The Federal Police in coordination with authorities of Baja California state, captured Carlos Gamiño González or Édgar Navarro Águila in Mexicali, who was identified as second-in-command of the Arellano Félix cartel.
"Data collected by the Federal Police showed that Carlos Gamiño González or Édgar Navarro Águila, 29, allegedly organizes, supervises and coordinates shipments of drugs to the United States, and also orders the killings of rival drug cartel members" sources explained.
Authorities also arrested Alán Fernando Gamiño Moreno, 25, and Juan Alberto Juérez Cabrera, 30, identified as the bodyguards of Carlos Gamiño González or Édgar Navarro Águila.
At the time of the arrest, the detainees tried to bribe the authorities with US$ 200,000 and the van they were driving.
