Representatives from the United Nations and Amnesty International met today with the relatives of the five young people who disappeared in the municipality of Tierra Blanca, Veracruz.
The offices of the Public Ministry hosted the Associate Human Rights Expert at UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Tom Haeck and the Coordinator of Mobilization and Impact of Amnesty International in Mexico, Daniel Zapico.
The meeting took place behind closed doors after 11:15 a.m. and concluded after two hours, with the presence of the relatives of the five young people who disappeared on January 11.
Bernardo Benítez Herrera, one of the parents of the victims, reported on the progress of the investigations on their disappearances by the authorities and the work of work of non-governmental organizations.
The envoys were also informed about the participation of the National Human Rights Commission and the scientific work of research of the National Gendarmerie.
