Since October 2015 until date, 180 cases of influenza have been detected in Mexico City.
Of these, 136 corresponded to the AH3N2 strain and 27 to the AH1N1 strain. The rest correspond to the B strain or have not been identified.
Armando Ahued, Health Secretary of Mexico City government, said that the vaccination that has been administered covers both strains. He added that Oseltamivir, marketed under the name Tamiflu, is the antiviral medication used to treat influenza.
Ahued explained that influenza prevalence in Mexico City has dropped compared to last year.
