Businessman, journalist and former federal deputy Moisés Dagdug was stabbed to death today in Tabasco in an alleged robbery, news director of Grupo VX, Ángel Antonio Jiménez confirmed and also said that Dagdug had been threatened.
The incident took place during the early hours of Saturday inside his home in Villahermosa, Tabasco, attackers stabbed the 65-year-old journalist and then stole his car.
Dagdug was known in Tabasco for being director of Grupo VX news and outspoken critic of the current state governor Arturo Núñez Jiménez.
Ángel Antonio Jiménez recalled that Dagdug had received threats and made them public in his show called "De Frente Tabasco."
"He was not afraid to say that he had been threatened, he received constant threats, in fact, burglars entered his home in a couple of times. He had to change his security system.” Jiménez said.
Jiménez said that the motive of the crime is not confirmed yet, but he recalled that “Tabasco lives immersed in a security crisis."
Dagdug was also federal lawmaker of Tabasco between 2006 and 2009 for the leftist Democratic Revolution Party (PRD).
