The Office of the Attorney General (PGR) confirmed the detention in Chilapa, Guerrero, of Yovani Anastasio Parra "El Chivo," second in command of the criminal organization known as "Los Rojos," along four members of his security group.
José Arturo López Ibarra, head of the Special Unit for Investigations on Terrorism, Weapons Stockpiling and Trafficking, said that the action represents a major blow to the organizational structure of "Los Rojos".
According to López Ibarra, the PGR and the Federal Police executed a raid in Chilapa on January 26, detaining "El Chivo," who was dedicated to "kidnapping, extortion and drug trafficking."
Two days later four of his killers were arrested, affecting the command structure of "Los Rojos," who are in a constant struggle with the group known as "Los Ardillos".
