Mexican actor Eric del Castillo talked about the situation of his daughter Kate del Castillo and hoped that the truth will come out soon.
"We have full confidence; our daughter has told us that everything is clean," del Castillo said.
In an interview with Adela Micha, Del Castillo said he was very upset with the media that have “lynched” his daughter and asked them to investigate before telling lies about the people that partnered with her to launch her tequila.
"I get the impression that this is a lynching against my daughter Kate, but everything will come to light," he said.
The actor explained that Mexico's Ministry of Finance is reviewing Kate's finances since May, but authorities have not found anything irregular.
"It is silly, that is not the way to fight evil. They are making a mistake, they should change their way of thinking and avoid being corrupt," Del Castillo said.
He added that the family is going through a difficult time, but they are united.
"We are honest and positive people. Why don't they bring out the qualities of my daughter Kate? Why don't these idiots investigate?" Kate's father said.
Del Castillo added that in order not to hinder the investigation, Kate has asked them not to talk to the media.
He also said that even though Kate is worriedm she is calm. "She has total serenity, total coolness."
The actor admitted that his daughter was brash and bold to meet the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, but clarified that it was "El Chapo" who contacted his daughter, not viceversa.
"My daughter is bold, she is different. She invited El Chapo to traffick with good.” The drug kingpin contacted my daughter for a good purpose: a movie or a book, del Castillo concluded.
