Journalist Carlos Loret de Mola, a contributor for EL UNIVERSAL, presented on his Twitter account the first image of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán in the "El Altiplano" maximum security prison.
Guzmán Loera, considered the leader of the Sinaloa cartel, was arrested about a week ago in the northern city of Los Mochis, almost six months after his escape from that very same prison.
In the picture published by Loret de Mola, the drug kingpin is seen turning away from the photographer, hands on his back and looking down.
He is wearing brown pants, black shoes and a heavy jacket. And his hair has been cut.
According to Loret de Mola's report in EL UNIVERSAL, he is being guarded with dogs and under a heavy surveillance apparatus.
