Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced his arrival to the Arabian Peninsula, pointing out his objective of establishing alliances with the economies in the area.

In a posting on Twitter, Peña Nieto wrote: "I am landing in the Arabian Peninsula, where I will make state visits to various countries of the region".

He added that he is looking forward to attracting investment to Mexico in order to generate more jobs in the country.

This is a historic visit to the region since the last president to go there was Luis Echeverría Álvarez, 42 years ago.

Peña Nieto will visit the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
