At least four Mexicans were killed and other six wounded in the central region of Thailand, when the van in which they were traveling left the road and crashed into a tree, according to police sources.
The emergency services reported that two women, of 51 and 70 years of age, were killed in situ, while two men, 70 and 82, died in a hospital in the province of Phichit.
The six wounded, one of them in serious condition, are being treated in various hospitals of the region and in Bangkok, according to officer Phatiwat Sontirot, of the district of Pho Pratapcharng, where the incident happened.
According to the first investigations, all the victims are relatives and they rented the van to go from Bangkok to Sukhothai.
The accident could have been caused by the lack of experience of the driver, one of the killed, and the slippery conditions after a strong rain in the area.
