A young man of Mexican origin was killed early Thursday by six men who beat him and stabbed him in the Bronx.
According to the authorities, 24-year-old Hugo Iván Galindo was pronounced dead at his arrival at the Montefiore Medical Center, after being left unconscious a few blocks from his home in Norwood.
The attack, recorded by video cameras in the street, occurred around 2:45 a.m., according to the authorities.
Galindo, who worked at a restaurant near Times Square, was seen as a "paternal figure" by his relatives due to his closeness with his nephews, according to The New York Times.
Galindo's Facebook indicates that he is from Queens and his mother is a Mexican immigrant.
