Two officials arrested over missing person announcement in Mexico City

The announcement, made at midnight, was heard in the following neighborhoods: Del Valle, Lindavista, Patriotismo, Magdalena Contreras, Cuauhtémoc and Jardín Balbuena, among others.

Last night the emergency alert system of Mexico City, normally used to warn the population about earthquakes, made an announcement about a missing person.

The announcement, made at midnight, was heard in the following neighborhoods: Del Valle, Lindavista, Patriotismo, Magdalena Contreras, Cuauhtémoc and Jardín Balbuena, among others.

Rosa Natalia Rojas Campos, 35, was last seen in Metro Cuauhtémoc. She was wearing white trousers and a yellow blouse.

Idris Rodríguez, director of the C4 alert system, said that two officials were punished with 36 hours of arrest due to the procedural mistake, because announcements should be made before 21:00 hrs.
