At least one person was killed in a massive crash involving more than 40 vehicles in the Monterrey-Saltillo highway, according to local rescue corporations.
Rain and fog, as well as excess speed, caused the incident which also left 23 people wounded. Eight had to be taken to local hospitals.
Two buses, private cars, trailers and cargo trucks were involved in the crash, which interrupted all traffic on the way to Monterrey.
The deceased was identified as Roberto Leija, a man in his forties, who was traveling on board a Nissan truck.
