Airbnb, a website for people to list and rent lodging, launched a contest to win a one-night stay at the “vecindad” (tenement house) of El Chavo del Ocho, a popular Mexican TV sitcom that started being transmitted by Televisa in 1971.
To win the free night, the contestants, who must live in Mexico, should write to Roberto Gómez Fernández, son of the late Roberto Gómez Bolaños, the creator of the series, explaining why they would like to stay at the place.
The winner and his guests will be taken to the vecinidad on November 21 in a car of the 60's and will get a tour through a private gallery that contains objects such as the original barrel where El Chavo lived and the typewriter in which “Chespirito”, as Gómez Bolaños is better know, wrote his stories.
The offer also includes an open-air cinema projection with the best episodes of the series.
