The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) decided to suspend Mexico from all international competitions in response to the controversies between the Mexican Basketball Sports Association (ADEMEBA) and the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE).
The Federation decided not to allow the participation of Mexican teams in international games, even the Olympic ones, and that could mean that the team is out of the classification for the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.
In a press release, FIBA called to an end to the controversies between the Mexican sports organizations and to have them begin a dialog and resolve their differences as soon as possible.
The problem began when the head of CONADE, Alfredo Castillo, refused to recognize Modesto Robledo as president of the ADEMEBA.
